Just because this is a jungle reserve, guests don't need to "rough it". The property has a dozen thatched-roof cabanas surrounding two central buildings that contain the reception desk, restaurant, bar, gift shop and reading room. Each cabana, beautifully finished with local exotic hardwoods, is fully screened with ceiling fans, private bath, hot and cold water, 24 hour electricity and a wrap-around veranda with hammocks.

Activities and Amenities

Hike the reserve's extensive nine-mile trail system and discover the unforgettable flora, fauna and Maya history unique to this pristine jungle environment. Or take a vehicle tour to various locations throughout the Chan Chich like the wetland habitat at Laguna Seca or the coffee plantation and at Gallon Jug farm. The lodge also offers day-trips to La Milpa, a Mayan site located in the Rio Bravo Conservation Area, and to the extensive ruins at Lamanai, the second largest Mayan site in Belize. Bird watching is also a popular activity among guests as an incredible range of species can be seen on the reserve like the Lovely Cotinga, Ornate Hawk Eagle and Rose Throated Tanager, as well as a host of colorful parrots, toucans, and hummingbirds.
