Business hours in Belize tend to be shorter than what you might expect. In fact, travelers will want to be sure they won't be left out of anything they'd like to do. BanksHours are generally between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. weekdays and, staying until 4:30 p.m. on Fridays. There are not usually weekend hours. At the International Airport the Belize Bank branch is open from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. every day. ShoppingWhile more essential stores, such as grocery stores, tend to remain open throughout the day, others tend to be operated according only to the times the owner wishes to be there. This can make things difficult, however, a few guidelines can help to ease any concerns: between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., excluding an hour lunch period from noon until 1:00 p.m., most shops are open. Also, be aware that promptness in returning from lunch may not be a top priority for business owners. On Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays expect early closures, and don't expect anything to be open on Sundays, as most of Belize rests. Museums and Tourist AttractionsSomewhat surprisingly, even tourist attractions run on what many would see as short schedules. Many tourist attractions close at 4:00 or 4:30 p.m. on weekdays, and on weekends as early as noon. This means you'll want to catch them early in the day. Nightowls won't generally find the businesses of Belize catering to their schedules, but morning people will be able to get things done just after breakfast. Related Articles
